During my talk final week with Marvel Studios conduct Kevin Feige and Iron Man 3 executive Shane Black, we brought adult Patton Oswalt’s overwhelming ad-libbed Star Wars: Episode VII representation (a Parks Recreation outtake) that concerned a cross-over eventuality involving Disney’s Marvel superhero and galactic universe.
While many of my colleagues were seeking a softball questions like “will Robert Downey Jr come behind for a fourth Iron Man” or “where will Marvel go in Phase 3?” we knuckled down with a much some-more critical hardball question: when is Disney going to take Oswalt’s representation severely and give us that Marvel/Disney cross-over film? Find out a answer after a jump.
For those who missed it, here is Oswalt’s Star Wars pitch:
When we brought adult Oswalt’s spiel, Iron Man 3 executive Shane Black confessed that “it’s a flattering overwhelming rant”. I incited to Marvel conduct Kevin Feige with a doubt he was probably fearing many in his talk rounds: “So when are we going to see that movie? When is that going to happen?” He said:
I don’t know, we figure… It substantially took twenty or thirty years of comic book cinema before they finally motionless that we could mix them into THE AVENGERS, so substantially another thirty years of STAR WARS cinema before Disney goes “What are we going to do?” “Put them together!”
But we wasn’t about to let him get divided with a “probably”, following-up with “So 2048?” Feige assuringly responded “Be there!”
So there we have it Marvel and Star Wars fans — symbol your calendar for Summer 2048!
