Disney to close down diversion builder LucasArts

Bad news for Star Wars game fans: Disney, that purchased a LucasFilm empire late final year for a cold $4.05 billion, has announced that it is shutting a LucasArts game-making subsidiary.
The Mouse House will no longer rise LucasArts games internally and will instead permit a brands, including Star Wars and Indiana Jones, to outmost developers.
“After evaluating a position in a games market, we’ve motionless to change LucasArts from an inner growth to a chartering model, minimizing a company’s risk while achieving a broader portfolio of peculiarity Star Wars games,” LucasFilm pronounced in a matter expelled to EW. “We are impossibly elegant and unapproachable of a gifted teams who have been building a new titles.”
Disney also expelled a statement, observant that they will try new ways to incorporate gaming during a joined company. “Disney Interactive looks brazen to operative with Lucasfilm on new games opportunities that precedence their implausible IP and brings it to life opposite gaming platforms.”
The pierce impacts games now in growth by LucasArts. Perhaps many notably, Star Wars 1313, a tech demo of that caused a stir during a E3 2012 electronic party expo final summer, has been scrapped for now, yet outmost chartering of a plan remains a possibility.
